Spring 〜〜🌸
In the botanical garden adjacent to the Belvedere Palace, almond flowers are in full bloom.
Speaking of almond trees, Vincent Willem van Gogh left a beautiful painting.
Van Gogh cut off his own ear and painted this work while recuperating in a mental hospital in Saint Lumiere de Provence in southern France.
The painting was done to celebrate the birth of a baby boy to Van Gogh's brother Theo, who had been a constant supporter of Van Gogh and named him Vincent, the same name.
Against a cloudless blue sky, the white flowers on the almond-branched tree that fill the picture are bright, full of joy and hope, and seem to be overflowing with Van Gogh's feelings of celebration for the birth of his nephew.

春うらら〜🌸
ベルヴェデーレ宮殿横のBotanischer Gartenでは、Amond Blossamが満開です。
アーモンドの木といえばVincent Willem van Goghが美しい絵を残しています。
ゴッホが自らの耳を切り落として、南フランスのサン＝レミード＝プロヴァンスの精神病院で療養している時に描いた作品だとか。
ゴッホを支え続けてきた弟のテオに男の子が生まれ、同名のフィンセントと名付けられたその子のお祝いのために描かれた絵です。
雲一つない青い空を背景に、画面いっぱいに広がるアーモンドの枝の木に咲く白い花は、明るく豊かな喜びと希望を湛え、甥の誕生を祝うゴッホの気持ちが溢れている気がします。
